Like cool things? We do!

Here's a list of things we consider "Freakn' Sweet"

Motorola Devour is headed to Verizon

By cwhitmore | Posted February 8th, 2010 at 9:17 pm

This is one I’m sorry I missed while I was out last week.  You may have already seen it but if not I think you’ll like it.  So what’s it?  It’s the Motorola Devour, a new Android smartphone that’s going to hit Verizon in March.  Like it’s Droid predecessor it’s got a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard, aGPS and it comes with an 8GB SD card with support up to 32GB.  Now granted, it’s got a smaller screen than the Droid but it’s still pretty sweet.  Another nice thing about this phone is that it has MOTOBLUR, the first solution to sync contacts from work and personal e-mail services, including Gmail, with posts, messages, photos and more from popular sites such as Facebook, MySpace and Twitter.

I’m pretty excited to see more on this phone, Megan Fox seems to like it too…  Check out the full press release here.

Touchscreen Guitar

So…um…yeah. I am the sarcastic one, not the tech one, so this is out of my league.  So I quote Cool Pictures Cool Stuff:  ”For guitar and gadget lovers, this cool touchscreen guitar is a must! Misa Digital Guitar is essentially an innovative MIDI controller with a large multi-touch touchscreen display that controls the sound. There are no strings on this futuristic instrument; it is powered by the Linux operating system, has 24 frets, MIDI out, and an Ethernet port”

It’s all Creed to me.

Buckle Up!

Saw this on The Hollywood Reporter.  It is not Freakn’ Sweet in the traditional sense, however it is a PSA that does not ram the message down your throat.  Rumor has it that it first started circulating last week.  It is also disheartening to see what we can only assume is candy being wasted.  This one may be sappy enough to get me fired.

Imperial X-Ray

By DaveR | Posted February 8th, 2010 at 6:22 pm

Good times were had by all during the superbowl. After some intense pain this morning I thought I better go to the doctor. His recommended x-ray has led me to believe something is wrong with his machine because I have to tell you…my butt is not that big.

It’s about time right?  We’ll we’ve talked about the lack of mulititouch on the Nexus One before but it’s cool that it’s finally here.  The video above is from TechCrunch and shows a finger print heavy Nexus One flaunting pinch to zoom in a couple apps.

Brendan Fraser retard-clap remix

I don’t know if you guys (and girls) saw Brendan Fraser and his rediculous clap during the Golden Globes but if you didn’t then this helps to break down how retarded it was.  If you did see it I’m sure you will love this just a little bit more cause this beat is B-A-N-A-N-A-S

Thanks to the guys at FAMKAB for passing this on.  BTW, I love that name… it’s “For All My Knickers and Britches”.

map2: The Zoomable Paper Map

By cwhitmore | Posted February 2nd, 2010 at 6:00 pm

Are you tired of GPS and want to go back to using paper maps?  Probably not but this is still a cool design.  It’s the map2( $13) and it has four quadrants that you can zoom in on (unfold…) to enlarge for more detail.  To be honest I think it would be really cool for touristy type stuff but other than that I think I’ll stick with  Google Maps on my phone.  I know… I’m a hater.

Filson Bridle Leather Hip Flask Comes to the Rescue

By cwhitmore | Posted February 2nd, 2010 at 9:54 am

Sometimes I wonder how I’m going to make it through the week.  Take this week for example, it’s only day 2 and we’ve put in over 12 hours…  That’s where the Filson Bridle Leather Hip Flask ($70) comes in.  It’s a perfect place to stash your boos so that you are much more pleasant with you clients. It also looks really cool pairing a traditional stainless steel flask with a handsomely stitched bridle leather cover. It holds up to 6 ounces of the good stuff, and features an anchored screw top to keep you from losing it in, as the description puts it, “an advanced state of inebriation.” Sign me up!
