So what do you get for a geek (or non-geek) that has everything? Tough question… Well here is a list of things that we like and are pretty easy on bank account too. Well at least some of them are.

Jawbone Jambox

This Jawbone isn’t going to hang off the side of your face. Instead, you put this bad boy anywhere you want to rock out, play games, watch movies, have conference calls, get…. well you get the picture. Check out this video to see the Jawbone Jambox in action!

Nook Color

I’ll be the first to say I was a little skeptical about e-readers but this one is a game changer. The Barnes & Noble Nook Color is based on the Android OS and in addition to store library of over two million digital titles, it features a 7-inch Vivid View touch screen, 8GB of internal storage, a microSD slot, Wi-Fi, a full browser and a slew of apps including Pandora.

FLUD

Possible the greatest news reader ever and it WAS the reason I got an iPad. FLUD is a news ecosystem for iPad and iPhone that allows one place to read and share all of your favorite content. Check this out to see it in action!

Energizer Inductive Charger

This truly is a piece of the future. The Energizer Inductive Charger features Qi technology which is the new wireless charging standard. Though it works with any Qi enabled device they currently have a Qi-door for the BlackBerry Curve 8900 and a Qi-sleeve for the iPhone 3G and 3Gs (iPhone 4 on the way). HTC 7 Surround

This is HTC’s first Windows Phone 7 device that’s out on AT&T and you guessed it, it has surround sound. The HTC 7 Surrond is a sweet-looking phone that has Xbox Live and Zune integration a 3.8 inch touch display, a 5 MP camera with auto focus, flash and 720p HD video recording. For the techie stuff, it’s on a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 8GB of internal storage, 577 MB of RAM and Rocks!

Kinect for Xbox 360

By now you’ve seen the commercials for this guy so it shouldn’t need much of an intro. The Kinect for Xbox 360 ($150) is Microsoft’s killer motion tracking add-on, featuring a camera, audio sensors, motion-sensing tech to track 48 points of movement on your body, and the ability to recognize faces and voices.
Crazy… I know.

Personalized Tabasco Gallon Jugs

Tabasco Personalized Gallon Jugs could be the greatest gifts for the spice freaks in your life. You can get it in chipotle, green, habanero, garlic, and original flavors, each jug comes with the recipient’s name (up to 20 characters) printed on the label, making it way more personal than the cases of smaller bottles available at the local warehouse club. Never overcook a steak again! Man, that sounds like the start of an infomercial…

This one is for the designer in your life. The extremely popular (and overused) font Helvetica has now made it’s way onto a deck of playing cards. As I’m sure you’ve noticed (cause some of you have asked) we haven’t been on top of our posts as usual. Well that is mainly do to the fact that we have big kid jobs that pay us and we’ve all been swamped lately. Not to mention that I had to nurse a week long hangover thanks to Mardi Gras but that’s a story in and of it’s self.

So yeah… here’s some things from around the web that we wanted to post but didn’t because we were to busy.

I know there was way more than that but that should give you a jump start.

Saw this on The Hollywood Reporter. It is not Freakn’ Sweet in the traditional sense, however it is a PSA that does not ram the message down your throat. Rumor has it that it first started circulating last week. It is also disheartening to see what we can only assume is candy being wasted. This one may be sappy enough to get me fired.

Apple to announce their ‘latest creation’ on Wednesday, January 27th

Apple has started the buzz again by announcing their upcoming keynote. Everyone is pretty sure this is where the world will get the first look at the Apple Tablet or iSlate or whatever clever name they come up with. There are also other rumors about the iPhone 4.0 and the possibility of Apple breaking that “only at AT&T” tie. (It’s about time if you ask me)

Over the next couple weeks we’re going to be uploading a bunch of old posts so those of you that have been with us for a while may be seeing some repeats. So why are we doing this?

We relaunched Freakn’ Sweet a couple months ago after changing the backend of the site. It made thing load a lot faster and a lot easier for us to update the site. Just one problem, not everything imported correctly. So with that said I’ve got about 400 articles that will be showing up so there’s going to some old stuff but like I said, it’s still sweet! We’re going to tag these with Old Skool so you’ll know they’re a blast from the past.

Thanks for helping us make this site what it is.

Unfortunately we’re to small to hang out with the big kids. Maybe next year though…

Since we aren’t there I had an idea and I would assume that most tech blogs don’t do what we’re about to, but I want to shoot you straight. Even thought we think we’re awesome we know we’re not the greatest website in the world (yet). However when it comes to CES coverage, in my humble opinion, Engadget is to notch. So if you didn’t know already, Engadget has a section of their site completely dedicated to CES coverage. (Not to mention a press trailer)

We’ll definitely “re-post” our favorite things that come out of CES but for full coverage check out Engadget At CES 2010.

It’s been a great 1st year for us here at Freakn’ Sweet. What started as a dream of mine in December of ’08 has grown into a site that we’re proud of and we can’t wait to make it explode this year. We’ve made a lot of new friends this year and can’t wait to see what the new year brings. We hope 2010 is a year of growth for you as well and want to thank you for all of your support.
