Wolfgang Keyboard Bench: It’s made for sits…

by cwhitmore | Posted February 22nd, 2010 at 8:58 pm

This cool looking thing is the Wolfgang Keyboard Bench by designer Nolan Herbut.  It uses 2000 keys embedded into a layered Baltic birch wood.  Just like a keyboard you can press each key so you get that nice little clicking sound when you move around.  For some this might be a sensory overload but it’s probably more comfortable than a bench made out of 1600 pencils.

The Doormat Scale Shares Your Secret

by cwhitmore | Posted February 9th, 2010 at 8:46 am

Meat and Beer night is one of my favorite nights ever, sadly it only happens about once a month now that I’m a “grown up”.  The Doormat Scale would be perfect for those glorious occasions.  You can weigh in and weigh out.  That or you can piss off your buddy’s girlfriends.  Apparently it’s not nice to ask how much they weigh…

Imperial X-Ray

by DaveR | Posted February 8th, 2010 at 6:22 pm

Good times were had by all during the superbowl. After some intense pain this morning I thought I better go to the doctor. His recommended x-ray has led me to believe something is wrong with his machine because I have to tell you…my butt is not that big.

Filson Bridle Leather Hip Flask Comes to the Rescue

by cwhitmore | Posted February 2nd, 2010 at 9:54 am

Sometimes I wonder how I’m going to make it through the week.  Take this week for example, it’s only day 2 and we’ve put in over 12 hours…  That’s where the Filson Bridle Leather Hip Flask ($70) comes in.  It’s a perfect place to stash your boos so that you are much more pleasant with you clients. It also looks really cool pairing a traditional stainless steel flask with a handsomely stitched bridle leather cover. It holds up to 6 ounces of the good stuff, and features an anchored screw top to keep you from losing it in, as the description puts it, “an advanced state of inebriation.” Sign me up!

The Picture Table is a master of disguise

by cwhitmore | Posted January 21st, 2010 at 5:47 pm

Do you need space in your tiny apartment but still want to be stylish?  Then you need the Picture Table ($1650). Created in Italy by designer Verena Lang, the Picture Table is mounted on a side wall for the eating part, but quickly attaches to the wall with three metal supports for the art/space saver part.  It kinda reminds me of the beds that fold into the wall but this is way cooler.

Now you can look like one of those fancy New York people. (No offense fancy New York people)

I Want A Giant Paper Clip Hook

by cwhitmore | Posted January 20th, 2010 at 7:52 pm

No, I really do…  Once you mount it to the wall, the 11″ x 3″ Giant Paper Clip ($13) becomes the coolest hat and coat rack in town. Sure, if you have really big paper that needs fastening the giant paper clip comes in handy, but right now enjoy hanging your stuff on one of the greatest inventions ever. Read More

The Do Hit Chair

by cwhitmore | Posted January 19th, 2010 at 8:59 am

Do you like breaking stuff?  Like when these designers encourage the buyer to customize their purchase, and when that customization involves smashing said purchase with an included hammer. Yeah, I thought so and we do too.

Designed by Marijn van der Poll, the Do Hit Chair ($TBA) is a box made from 1.25mm stainless steel measuring roughly 40″ by 28″ by 30″, which you’re supposed to mold into whatever shape you like (aka beat the hell out of it) using the included long-handle, wide-head hammer.

The Urban Adapter by Rocker-Lange

by cwhitmore | Posted January 12th, 2010 at 4:48 pm

This super contemporary city bench is the work or Rocker Lange Architects.  The “Urban Adapter” was designed as urban street furniture for Hong Kong but it would be cool to have some of these in St. Louis?

Nice Work
