AT&T finally gets in the Android game

Wednesday, January 6th, 2010

It’s been a big week for Android with the release of the new Nexus One and it just got a lot more interesting.  AT&T announced that it’s launching five new Android devices in the first half of 2010.  They will be devices from Motorola, Dell and HTC.  They say the Motorola phone is exclusive to them so that counts out Droid so it could be the new Backflip and Dell announced that the Mini 3 is coming to AT&T so we know that one.  So that leaves HTC.  Could they be some of the devices we saw in their leaked road map?  AT&T says they’ll have an “exclusive” device so I’m curious if it really will be or if it will just be something re-shelled like the Hero on Sprint.

So lets hear it AT&T peeps.  What do you think?

“Chubbs”, “Fatty Ass”, “Fugly” — call it what you want, but the LG Expo ($200) is a smartphone with an appendage a secret: a $180 DLP pico projector that straps to its back.  Apart from the optional rear monstrosity, which can display big-sceen size images from up to 8 feet away, the Expo pretty packed with good stuff, it’s the first US phone with a 1GHz processor, a 3.2-inch touchscreen, a 5 megapixel camera with flash, a slide-out keyboard, 7.2 Mbps HSPA wireless, microSD storage, and Windows Mobile 6.5.
