USB Flash Drive Cufflinks

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

As we’ve said before, geeks like fashion too and though these aren’t Transformer cufflinks, their pretty damn cool. Each of these USB Flash Drive Cufflinks ($200) house a mini 2GB flash drive , giving you 4GB of fashionable storage.  You can get this techi-bling in three styles; polished, gunmetal or gold (for all you gangstas).

The USB Wine Cork

Monday, March 1st, 2010

It seems like they’ll put a USB drive in just about anything these days.  I guess the 2GB Cork USB drive ($52) isn’t too bad of an idea if you were some kind of top secret spy doing all kinds of top secret stuff.  If I was a spy I would want lasers…. pew pew

Who doesn’t need an 80 Port USB Hub?

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

That’s right 80 Ports.  This 80 port USB hub ($165) from Thanko doesn’t do data but you can charge just about every gadget (or crapgadget) you can think of.

“When viewed from the side of the port in line, you feel powerful and somewhat like a soldier in the army.”

Touchscreen Guitar

So…um…yeah. I am the sarcastic one, not the tech one, so this is out of my league.  So I quote Cool Pictures Cool Stuff:  ”For guitar and gadget lovers, this cool touchscreen guitar is a must! Misa Digital Guitar is essentially an innovative MIDI controller with a large multi-touch touchscreen display that controls the sound. There are no strings on this futuristic instrument; it is powered by the Linux operating system, has 24 frets, MIDI out, and an Ethernet port”

It’s all Creed to me.

Saturday, January 30th, 2010

How would you feel about a USB drive stuffed into a dead mouse? (get it… stuffed… HA!) Yeah we think it’s pretty gross too.  There’s something about those glowing red eyes that are a little off too.  Well mister dead mouse thumb drive, welcome to the Crapgadget list.

Samson’s Q2U Microphone: A Podcaster’s Dream

Samson Q2U Microphone

One of the things we’ve been gearing up for at Freakn’ Sweet is our new Beer & Gear podcast that talks about the gadgets we need and the beers we love.   While we’ve been getting things going the toughest things we’ve ran into was trying to fine a quality microphone.  Sure, there are a variety of ways to get your high-end XLR audio onto your PC, but the solutions we’ve seen aren’t exactly cheap.

Shure’s dual-purpose mics cost up to $250 and while the Icicle adapter is only $60, it’s a strictly BYO microphone affair. Samson’s Q2U ($89) package includes all you’ll need to become a podcasting wunderkind, most important being the mic itself, which comes with both XLR and USB cables. It also features an integrated 3.5mm headphone jack for zero-latency monitoring, includes a set of studio headphones, and even comes with a tripod so we can double fist our beers.

USB Burger Hand Warmer and Massager

Sunday, November 22nd, 2009

It seems like there is a new craptastic USB device popping up every day.  This little gadget, shaped like a hamburger for a reason that’s beyond me, is not only a massager but it’s also a hand warmer.  So next time your muscles hurt or your hands are cold at your desk grab this burger and… yeah… I got nothing.  I still don’t think I would get caught dead with this.
