Apartment Creeper: Only in NYC

This video is just creepy. This guy (Joe Cummings) setup a camera to find out where his food and drinks were disappearing to. I never would have expected this…

Check out answers to some the questions he received after the break.

Yes, I found out the hard way that I had an uninvited guest living in my apartment, sharing my food and drinks and pissing in my sink. Talk about a creepy situation… only in the big apple….

So I have been inundated with questions since this was posted and I thought it wise to give answers to some of the most frequently asked questions.

#1 – Are you sh#ting me?
A – No, this is every bit as real and messed up as it seems

#2 – What did you do when you saw the footage?
A – I immediately left my apartment and called the police.

#3 – Who is that girl?
A – I have no idea, she didn’t say much when the cops came and took her.

#4 – What was it she actually climbed down from?
A – It is a storage loft/area in the apartment. It has no connection to any outside ventilation or anything of that such. It does go pretty deep back in there, almost all the way to over the stove/kitchen area. She had set up a little nook for herself.

#5 – How did she get in there?
A – I have no idea, the only way she could have gotten in is through the window, as I am on the top floor and there is a fire escape. The police think she was probably coming in to rob me when I was gone and decided to stow away in the crawl space. Supposedly this isn’t the first time the cops had come across something like this.

#6 – How long was she in your apartment?
A – The police officers thought it looked as though she had been there for at least a couple weeks, although could have been longer.

I’m sorry, the Beer Bike? Yes, you read us right. The bike holds between 10 and 22 people and almost 10,000 tourists attended the mobile party in 2009. Quoted in TIME is the founder of Beerbike.co.uk . “Riding a bike while having a beer is simply amazing,” (Ard) Karsten says as the Kiwis blast Eye of the Tiger from the karaoke machine. “It’s a new and unique way to see Amsterdam.”

That’s right, Kiwis listen to Survivor. FTW…TIME article further stokes the fire in the debate on who the better drivers are.

and thats about it for now. Unfortunately I don’t get to do Christmas with my family till Monday but when I do I’ll have some more updates.

Google Chrome Hits Beta for Mac and Windows Kids Get Extensions

It’s a good day for Mac and Linux users. Google has announce an official beta for their popular Chrome browser. Those of us that aren’t cool enough to own a Mac get a surprise too. Google is finally launching extensions for Chrome with support for Windows and Linux versions of the browser. Sorry Mac kids, you have to wait…

There are already 300 extensions available so that’s pretty cool. From what I can tell there isn’t a big lag after installing either. I was really worried about that because Firefox is soooooo slow with extensions installed.

Clever Design: Pocket Clip Pencil

Sometimes there’s those things that you nerd out on, the Pocket Clip Pencil ($8) is one for me. It’s such a simple addition (or subtraction in this case) to make something even more versatile. Very cool!

Possibly the worlds cleverest pencil, handmade in east London. Each white pencil has a clip carved into it, so that it can be attached to pockets, satchels and book covers just like a biro. It comes packaged on a card and we think it’s a classic in the making!

Will Android 2.1 Give The Market A New Look?

With Android 2.1 hitting in a couple days Google has given another makeover to the official Android.com website. We have seen this site change quite a bit over the last year and it is normally preceded by an update to the Android operating system. We also know Google recently updated their terms of service for the Android Market which are supposed to go in effect on December 11, 2009.

Here are some rumors we have been hearing for Dec. 11:

New Android Market with carrier billing support
Android 2.1 update for select devices
Over-the-air (OTA) updates for the Verizon Droid and Droid Eris
Desktop client for Android Market

Another device rumored for the Android 2.1 update is HTC’s Hero, though the fate of carrier devices, like the Sprint Hero, and if and when those devices will receive OS upgrades may be up to the individual carriers.
