Skinny Blonde Beer = Best Label Ever [NSFW]

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

It is the ultimate beer-lover’s fantasy: a bottle of beer with a woman on the label whose bikini disappears as fast as the drinker can consume its contents.

Three friends in Sydney have taken on the Australian beer market with a unique world first marketing concept for their new beer.  The label is Skinny Blonde, a low-carb beer that is thriving on the current popularity of Australia’s new crop of ‘healthy’ beers.

But there is another reason it is popular: the Skinny Blonde bottle features a 1950s-style pin-up called Daisy whose red bikini disappears as the beer level drops and the bottle warms up, thanks to the modern ink technology used on the labels.  If you want another treat, head over to their site and check out these lovely ladies.

Update: Sadly they don’t have the original site up anymore so no naked six packs… However, they are clothed after the break. Read More

Arkeg: The Arcade Kegerator

Wednesday, January 13th, 2010

Beer and gaming go together like Mario and Luigi, and the Arkeg ($4,000) offers up plenty of both. This arcade game-styled machine features a fully functioning kegerator in its belly, with room for a 5 gallon keg kept cool by a solid-state thermoelectric cooling system. In addition, it sports a gaming-ready PC, pre-loaded with 69 games such as Asteroids, Mortal Kombat II, and 1942. Other features include a 24-inch LCD with protective overlay, an authentic backlit marquee, a 2.1 sound system with powered sub, two complete arcade controllers and a trackball mounted in a custom aluminum panel, a side-mounted tap with interchangeable handle, and more.

So in short this is a must have. No seriously, I need this… I think I’m going to start tagging things as wedding gift ideas.

The Newcastle DraughtKeg

Tuesday, January 5th, 2010

I like beer. I like beer a lot in fact so I’m pretty exited about this.  Just like the Heineken version Newcastle has now introduced the Newcastle DraughtKeg ($23). The pressurized mini-keg serves up 10 pints of draught beer, and will stay fresh for 30 days with on-tap tastiness.  Who wants to buy me a beer?

Guinness Soap = Awesome!

Guinness Soap = Awesome!

The ancient Egyptians knew that beer, in addition to making parties more fun and allowing white guys to dance, had incredible cleansing powers.  Actually, thats not true. Even with beer we white guys can’t dance. But apparently beer does have the power to clean.

Discovered by our obsessively hygienic friends over at Asylum, The Beer Soap Company has been mixing beer with unrefined shea butter and olive, palm kernel, sunflower, and castor oils, to create a handmade, spuds-and-suds-laden soap that works for showering, shampooing or shaving.  And if you think washing up with brew will leave you smelling like you spent a long day working the line at Schlitz, their Guinness Extra Stout is described as “very heady with a chocolate aroma and flavor, along with coffee.”

They’ve mixed up over a dozen varieties, featuring everything from Newcastle Brown Ale to Tsingtao and even Hornsby’s Hard Apple Cider.

Keep a couple of the big 4.5 oz bars on hand, so when your girl asks if you’ve been out drinking with your boys, tell her, “Nope, I just got out of the shower.”

$5. Any 5 for $20
