New Hack Brings Multi-Touch To The Nexus One

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

There’s been a lot of talk all over the web regarding the lack of multi-touch on the Nexus One.  Whether it was due to patents or who know’s what, there’s a new little treat for you.  The guys at XDA Developers (cyanogen to be exact) have created a hack to add multi-touch to the native Android browser.  Redmond Pie has quik little step-by-step.

After the break here’s a quick peek at how it works after the device update.

Sprint Hero at Best Buy

I first heard about this on Boy Genius Report‘s twitter feed. (follow BGR) so I had to check into it myself.  It’s true!  Best Buy is now offering the HTC Hero for $99 with a new 2 year contract with Sprint.  So what about us that have already bought the Hero?  Well if you bought it from Best Buy they will give you a refund as long as you bring in your receipt.

There hasn’t been any word if Sprint will be offering the discount directly.

HTC You ad campaign: A phone that gets you

Thursday, October 29th, 2009

you

You don’t need to get a phone. You need a phone that gets you.  That’s a line from HTC’s new “quetly brilliant” campaign.  They have definitely been a major name for Windows Mobile users for a while now, but it looks like the company’s gearing up to go mainstream — this is the first print ad from the new HTC You campaign that launched on Monday. Considering HTC’s recent slew of high-profile handset launches like the HeroHD2, and Tilt2 and equally-promising upcoming products like the Dragon and Droid Eris, we’d say this marketing push hasn’t come a moment too soon. As for the ad itself, while it’s not exactly a knockdown punch, it certainly suggests that HTC sees Sense UI as its ace in the hole — we’ll see how that plays out as Android 2.0 phones like the Motorola Droid come out and make stock Android sexy again.

Check out the TV ads after the break.
