Windows Phone Wants To Be A Bully Too. Goes After BlackBerry

Friday, December 4th, 2009

YouTube Preview Image

I guess since Verizon has been playing bully with it’s commercials knocking AT&T and their filings against Sprint, Microsoft wanted to get in on the bashing.  On the Windows Phone YouTube channel, they’ve posted a video that is bashing BlackBerry.

I don’t think it’s anywhere near as effective as the Verizon commercials though.  In fact it looks like a desperate attempt to match that style. (FAIL)  As pocketnow.com pointed out though, it doesn’t have any of the WIndows Phone branding so it probably wasn’t setup for TV.  Maybe it’s just a test spot on YouTube to see how people react to them being copycats.

New iPhone ads strike back at Verizon (video)

apple_launching

So you may or may not know that Apple filed a lawsuit against Verizon for their “We’ve got a map for that” campaign.  Well the judge shot that down, so how did Apple react?  The only way they know how… a commercial.  The new campaign launching tonight focuses on the iPhone’s ability to carry voice and data simultaneously on AT&T’s network, and each of the two new TV spots ends with the line “Can your phone and your network do that?” From where we’re sitting, it looks like between this new round and AT&T’s Luke Wilson-manned comparison spots, both the phonemaker and carrier are fully stepping into the ring. Who’s going to get knocked out first?.

New Droid “Stealth” Commercial Rocks

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009

Now I’m a Sprint man myself.  Always have been.  It is because of that I tell you that with lots of jealousy that the new Verizon Droid commercial dropped and it is amazing.  The one minute commercial, “Stealth”, is better than the hour and a half (or however long I wasted) movie of the same name.  The reviews have been fantastic and I’d love to get my hands on a demo unit.  Hopefully the “Droid” won’t remain exclusive with Verizon forever like the iPhone but instead will realize the value in branching out to multiple networks like the “Palm Pre”.
